...And we’re back
Because the American housing system isn’t going to reform itself
Housing for All had to take a few months off because one of us had a baby. Now that things are more settled, we’re returning just in time for our first anniversary: it was a year ago today that we launched this newsletter, two podcasts, and a youtube channel.
We plan to discontinue our monthly COVID updates because COVID-related housing programs have basically concluded (even though the pandemic rages on, with the equivalent of about two 9/11’s worth of Americans dying each week; more Americans have died of COVID in 2021 than in 2020). However — because the public policy response to the pandemic was so chaotic — we have plans for a future series looking back at how the pandemic affected the housing system, focusing on the staggering human cost of the many policy failures.
Currently, COVID-related protections for homeowners are in the process of being phased out gradually; protections for renters were suddenly ended, with disastrous results.
